Cuckold
Where is she now
Where was she then
And where am I
In doubt again.
The house is cold
But the children smile
Ignorant of all
At least for a while
Will they ever ask
Will they ever see
They can never know
What she's done to me
They're my best friends.
But it isn’t their part
to know what it is
tearing father apart
So I smile too
The pain is veiled
They are happy
In this I’ve not failed.
We play and we laugh
In their cheer I dismiss
the desolation inside
and the tainted bliss.
I can feign happiness
I can do this well
For them I'll do anything
I can endure this hell
They'll grow strong
They'll grow sure
In trade for my pain
they will endure.
(incidentally, this poem is not autobiographical)

Thanks!
I was thinking about an article I had read that talked about how children that come from two parent homes tend to do better in life than those that come from broken homes. (yet another one of those studies conducted by Noshitsherlock Labs, LLC) Knowing that, I think a lot of people will put up with a lot, including infidelity, to keep a marriage together where there are children involved. I thought about what it would be like to be in a marriage like that. Me? No. I love my kids and I want them to have the best start but if I knew my wife were out screwing someone else my response would be, "Hey babe, you wanna give up the ass to some other dude? Well let me introduce it to Mr. Curb!" :)
Some people can shelf their pride and their own happiness to protect their children. They're stronger than I ever could be.
Cozener: before I add this poem (which bears liked a lot) to the Index, maybe you can reconsider the title of the thread? I mean, you might want to post more poems later, which bears dearly hope, and then a different name would be more, you know, fitting http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/0134-bear.gifhttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/0134-bear.gifhttp://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k291/mishemplushem/Facilitation/0134-bear.gif

Thanks for reading Jean, glad you liked it.
I suppose the title could be changed to the title of the poem. Can I do that? I don't see where I can change it...
Good stuff Coz.
Much better than the last one you posted. LOL
I like it.
