So I guess I will finally start a collection thread but don't expect me to document all books I have in my collection, I'm too lazy to take them off the shelf and post them all. :cool_002:
I will take some pictures this weekend of the shelves and document my most recent :)
Here is a sneak preview, there are more than this now:
http://www.thedarktower.org/gallery/data/500/medium/20150624_174156.jpg
And no I do not have the crazy collections that some of you have (and I drool over) but I am slowly working on it.

Killer collection. Other than the great King books, I dig the King Arthur collection (would love 1/1 Once and Future King collected or individual editions) and the Tolkien collection. Especially what appears to be the film edition of the Hobbit.

I designed them and they are made by a UK slipcase maker. See this (http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/showthread.php?18900-Aftermarket-Slipcases-amp-Traycases) thread for more details and some forthcoming designs...

Thanks!
The Arthur collection is weirdly hard to find. The dust jackets fair even worse than early king Doubleday books... but they are from the 40s.
The Hobbit is one of my favorite editions, I didn't know it existed until Brice posted about it in the Tolkien thread so I had to find me one.

Not sure why the photos will not rotate. I edited them from the gallery and they show correct there but it will not reflect that change here...

The Hobbit and The Return of the King Animated film story books and records of the sound track

OK, It isn't pristine, but this was a prized "toy" of a 8-9 year old around 35 years ago, so it really isn't doing too badly. :) I hope that you enjoy seeing them a 1/4 as much as I enjoyed them then.

I'll post more photos of the Hobbit when I get home tonight. But no older Tolkien set set. I am holding out for a nice set that I can really display and be proud of. Right now I have the two consolidated editions and the over sized editions and the records. I also have the start of my History of Middle Earth but I hate having to buy from UK with the cost of shipping. I only have 1 contact over there and she can only find me one book at a time and it's not worth it for me that way.

I'm a drummer if that helps!! LOL Handsome collection you got there, my friend!!!! All you need is a "Dolso" case of some kind. He makes an awesome one for, "The Hobbit" and "LOTR" you can see an example in my thread.IMHO. every collector should have at least one of his cases. The Tolkien cases are especially nice because it allows you to really display these awesome books outside your shelves or even hang on the wall.

A fine set of shelves.
How is the quality of the H.P. Lovecraft book on the bottom shelf next to the Graphic novels? I've look at a couple copies online and haven't pulled the trigger yet.
It would be nice if Easton Press would do a set of his works.
Love those GRRM stories there too.

The HP Lovecraft book I picked up for $20 or so new. The is a very nice book. The book is actually cloth bound and the slipcase is textured to the graphic and the case also has HPL facsimile sig engraved in it. The only thing I wish was better was the paper quality. The pages are thin since the had to fit so many pages into one book.

Looks to be an Easton edition possibly? Or a B&N "Collectible edition"? I was always partial to those B&N collectible's for the "Classics". Nice productions for the price.

Finally in! I am very happy with the product that folio society is putting out. The only thing I would change is I would have the Hobbit in a maroon case to match the other two and I wish The Silmarillion and Hobbit had the foil stamping on the case like LOTR has. Otherwise a great set and F451 is amazing.

Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion. They just took the two novels and put them in one cover. It was the cheapest way to find the books in hardcover to read.

The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe!

The the book is held in another case. It is very handsome. Bound in red "leather" with silver gilding and comes with a portfolio print.

I do like those slipcases, but they are part of the "S/L" and not after market, correct? Maybe I'll email, Jeff and see what he can do for, Merlin III for next year............. Perhaps, so sort of lopsided trade may be in order. :orely:

Thanks Paul. I'm thinking if I end up with Dupes I might try different combos on those.
For PS I may try a Burgundy/White
DS a Blue/White
and and on Cujo I love the beige but just wish the image didn't come out in negative. So Brown or Beige/White would look off but still very pleased. I have a new design in the works with Jeff so we will see what comes from that.

Picked up a Thinner 1/1 for $5 the other day from HPB. The book itself is in fine condition. The DJ has minor scuffing on it that you can see a little through the Brodart but it helps hide it from me so I don't have to worry yet :)

Sometimes you can get some real gems at HPBs. Several years ago when CD first sold out of the gift edition of IT it was still selling for around issue price, maybe a tad higher. HPB had one for $400 and I laughed. I even had a 50% off coupon, at $200 it was still higher than it was worth. Besides, I already had one. Live and learn.
Congrats on Thinner!

So I finally came to the realization that I need to keep my thread up to date. Rather than go back and find everything that I added I am going to just re post my shelves as they stand today and add the newer things as I get them.
Best acquisitions since I stopped updating:
Night Shift 1/1 x2
Firestarter 1/1
Signed The Dark Half
Signed Needful Things
A few S/L but I'll let your eyes peruse the shelves and as always if you want more pictures of anything let me know and i'll take them.

This is most of the set of history of middle earth. I am missing 3 books in ther series I'm just not ever actively looking for them. They just pop up sometimes.

Well it has been a while since I have updated this thread and I am sad to say that I only have 2 Stephen King items to add lately. One of them however is absolutely stunning.
First off just the general riff raff of books :)
The first thanks to Paul (there will be 2) I have started my Alan Moore reading with 3 of the classics. I also have V for Vendetta hidden around here somewhere.

Josh, congrats on the new books, and happy to see you got your rebound copy. It looks great, even if I say so myself... ;-)

The start of my new office. I am thinking I will continue down this wall. Or I might start on the opposite wall to keep things even can't really decide.
Anyone have any ideas?
