I just watched Troll a couple of days ago. Couple of things I noticed.

    1. Julia Louis Dreyfus's ass (or a decent facsimilie of of ) - I've had a crush on her for ages....
    2. The boy's name is HARRY POTTER!!! (film was made in 1986 I think)
i know that's crazy! he was trying to be a wizard, his name was harry potter(Atreyu), his father worked for a book publishing company or something, julia louise dreyfuss's ass (), and Sonny Bono. All in one amazing good bad film. excellent.

RUTHFUL, I really almost pissed a little watching that clip.
    Oh my goooooood! it's amazing.

Lol, I remember that one. Him and his shooting sword. Actually I didn't like that one so much but that might be because when I watched SatS it was right after watching one of my favorite fantasy films of all time...Conan the Barbarian. So the feeling I had was much akin to seeing Ashley and then Wynonna Judd naked.

The Never Ending Story? It might be another one of those movies that I remember fondly from my childhood but would probably suck if I watched it today. Big Trouble in Little China was like that.

The director Albert Pyun is allegedly preparing to film the sequel in Tunisia in October! At least that's what Harry Knowles says http://www.aintitcool.com/node/33581
though Lee Horsley has to play Talon, anyone else would be a disappointment

I'm guess I'm not understanding some things... Ladyhawke low fantasy? No way, thats what I would consider high fantasy. Its all in your definition.

I got curious and did a little research. It cost 17.5 million to make Conan. This isn't a big budget film but its pretty much average for the time. And when you think about it this makes sense. It was not a special effects driven film. Actually, until LotR came out, this was my favorite fantasy film.
