CLUB STEPHEN KING (french website about STEPHEN KING, since 1992) : on : Facebook | Twitter | Instagram
------------------------------------------------
I've not really found anything else on this website that interests me that much other than the discussions about collecting (King and other authors). Time is also an issue. I can spend an hour or more a day just reading and posting in Calvin's Corner. There are also other websites and message boards that I go to. I can spend another hour a day on a Texas A&M football website, 30 minutes or so with the online version of the San Antonio Express-News keeping up with the Spurs and another 30 minutes or so with the New York Post keeping up with the Yankees. Throw in some time doing searches on eBay and ABE and I can easily spend 3 hours or more a day on the internet. I think that is excessive but it is enjoyable and it involves topics I am most interested in. Actually this may work to my advantage because there is now one less thread in Calvin's Corner that I have to read.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Well I guess it's not that hard to find... I'll just have to adjust.
And maybe the melons thread needs to be updated?
Wanted: Human skin edition of The Book of the Dead. Will accept PC copy.
Bummer. I'll probably not venture waaaaay over there either. Like Carlos, I only pop into this forum for a few minutes and move on. It was great having it here as it pertained to collecting and collectors- and I'm sure (I hope!) we all collect more than King.
Sucks people are so resistive to a minor change.
I could put everything on the site under Calvin's Corner.
It would be unwieldy
Shall we try that for 24 hours?
No need to change... i am still young enough !
For the record: I am not opposed to 'the move'. But I can see why it's convenient to have the subforum located in CC. I guess it's a matter of prioritizing: does the 'collecting' aspect outweigh the 'other authors' aspect (or not)?
I agree that everything should not be in Calvin's Corner. I personally don't have a problem with "the move"--I just check it out there. All it takes is a few keystrokes/mouse clicks.

I would think most people start their visit at The Oracle, since that's the news area.
I still do not understand why people do not use the "You have xx unread posts" in the upper right! Then you see all threads added posts to and you can go through and read whatever you like Its the most fastest way to read a forum. I cannot imagine to click through all the different forums to see what is new...?!
I've never tried that but will give it a shot. I'm looking at the site on my iPhone about 80% of the time, so I just have every thread I'm reading open in the browser 24/7. When I want to read a thread, I just look at the main CC thread to see what's new, then jump to that screen.
I also sometimes to go "What's New", which I'd never considered doing until I saw someone recommend it. It's a good way to see all new posts across the whole Forum.

I'm on my iPhone 5 screen right now. Not difficult to find Dutch Hill's Other Authors You Collect sub-forum.
I prefer to read all new posts in a single thread together before moving on to another thread's comments. I never use the "view all new posts" tool.
"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
you kinda HAVE to appreciate the irony that the "Other Authors" thread has been replaced by this thread here in Calvin's Corner...
and that this thread is going to end up having more posts than the other "authors" thread did...
