ANY S/L #459
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
I just finished Revival. This has to be the darkest story King has written. The ending is so nasty I truthfully don't know if I'm going to reread this for a long, long time.
John
Ooooh...sounds like a real good SK story. I cant wait for the general release of Revival!
NOW, I am excited for Revival. Sounds like my type of book.
Sloth Love Chunk
sounds like a return to the early works of King from what i've read about Revival
It helps a lot if you've read him before so you know what you're getting into and it also helps if you've been really,REALLY stoned before, I can't recall a leading character who smokes as much weed as Doc in Inherent Vice which is very noirish and funny too, a real departure for Pynchon but you know it's one of his books from page 1
Well I haven't read anything by Pynchon but I do meet that second requirement lol. Inherent Vice has been on my radar since I learned of PTA's involvement so I'm sure I'll get around to it sooner or later.
Pynchon's best is Against the Day.
Starting this:
Finished Mr. Mercedes - liked it, didn't love it. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Just started novel by Jo Nesbo called The Redbreast. I am about 70 pages in and its pretty good so far. Friends who know how much I loved Steig Larrson have been recommending Nesbo for a couple of years.
I posted reviews for Dark Duets (anthology) and The City by Koontz here: http://nottooterrible.wordpress.com
the only thing bears can do now is re-read Dickens. Finished Chuzzlewit and Our Mutual Friend; now halfway through The Old Curiosity Shop
Ask not what bears can do for you, but what you can do for bears. (razz)
When one is in agreement with bears one is always correct. (mae)
