I think it was intentionally ridiculous. The gunfights were obviously over the top x 1000. I thought it was a fun show. Won't ever rent it again though.

"So many vows. They make you swear and swear. Defend the King, obey the King, obey your father, protect the innocent, defend the weak. But what if your father despises the King? What if the King massacres the innocent? It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or another."
What do you all think of Piranha 3D ?
Haven't seen it. How bad is it?

Absolutely. For me, it was just hilarious to watch the first time i saw it. Any film that's deliberately dumb/awesome enough to haveSpoiler:is worth a watch, in my book.
Tbh, i have a soft spot for deliberately over-the-top, ultra-violent films like that. That's why i want to see Machete asap, really.
Oh, and Worst Movie Ever? Judge Dredd. Comic: a bleak, ultra-violent vision of the future, ranging from the satirical, to the horrific, to the tragic. Film: a film which tried to make Judge Dredd family friendly (and failed, receiving an R rating anyway) and had piece of shit Rob Schneider in it. Quite an achievement that i didn't like it. Even if it had been a mindless, over-the-top all action ultra-violent fest, i would've enjoyed it. Fingers crossed that Dredd (2012) will be so much better.

DD, definitely check out Machete! It's an awesome movie.
So I just watched Birdemic: Shock and Terror the other night. Hands down I think this is the winner for the worst film ever made. Here's a little clip I found on youtube
Birdemic Clip
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Seriously, wtf was that?!? I mean i've seen some bad effects/acting/directing in my time, but that was just...that gave Garth Marenghi a run for his money!

And the best part is the whole film is filled with epic scenes like that!

I submit: The Social Network. Stupid. Boring. Not an interesting topic for a movie. Just plain dumb. Did I mention stupid? Also, the lead actor is really bad.
Biggest let down ever, although not necessarily the worst movie ever, was Matrix Revolutions, hands down. Talk about anticlimactic
People are always talking about truth.Everybody knows what the truth is,like it was toilet paper or somethin...All there is is bull*...One layer of bullshit on top of another...what you do in life...pick the layer of bull* that you prefer...
So a piece of software that essentially rewrote the rules on how we communicate across the globe and has more or less become the hub of our online social lives isn't an interesting topic ? :/
Also, the lead actor is Jesse Eisenberg.
(Not that I loved the film... just sayin there is SOME good in it.)
Monte wasn't saying FB sucks, he was saying the MOVIE about FB sucks. There's a difference.

But why? You only like action/adventure?
I only saw bits and pieces of that movie and I thought it was all right. Granted I have not seen the whole movie but it seems interesting
If you love me then love me..
Yeah. That was pure eye candy to me, but I would totally watch Shoot Em Up again. Ditto "Way of the Gun." Which brings me to Smokin' Aces which is in teh same vein. And I still have not seen Machete--I love Rodriquez movies.
But THIS is a bad movie thread. For worst movie ever, I nominate the third Hellraiser sequels; although the fourth sequel could potentially be worse, I did not even bother. I could not even get through them, so not sure if they count. Talk about missed opportunities...
I think we need a "Gratisfying Gratuitous Violence" Movies thread...

I was just thinking, here's a clear example of the kind of movie that I hate: National Treasure. Yuck. What a load.
National Treasure just served as a vessel for me to think WHY ARE YOU IN THIS JON VOIGHT?
Like Counter Culture Shock on Facebook
Because Dredd is the "LAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRR!"
Seriously, I know what you mean. I'm hoping that the new one won't beat the Stallone film for the award of "Worst Comic Book Movie Ever". From what I heard, it's less typical saving-the-world-blockbuster that these comic adaptations usually are and more of a sci-fi Die Hard, complete with Dredd and his new rookie partner Anderson trapped in an average Mega City Block. That could work. It would certainly be more faithful in tone to what the comic is normally like, at least.
