if you had asked me this question before this past rereading it would have gone like this:
wizard and glass
the waste land
the dark tower
the drawing of the three
the gunslinger
song of susannah
wolves of the calla
but now i'm all completely fucked up. and it's all this rereadings fault! i haven't cried so much since the final books first came out. and i couldn't stand susan in this rereading. i don't want to saySpoiler:and just sitting here thinking about the dark tower (the final book, hear me i beg) i am starting to cry. maybe it's the weather. yes, that is surely it. just the weather.
my order now is:
the dark tower
the waste land
the drawing of the three
wolves of the calla
song of susannah
the gunslinger
wizard and glass
"It's his eyes, Roland thought. They were wide and terrible, the eyes of a dragon in human form" - Roland seeing the Crimson King for the first time.
"When the King comes and the Tower falls, sai, all such pretty things as yours will be broken. Then there will be darkness and nothing but the howl of Discordia and the cries of the can toi" - From Song of Susannah
Mine would have to be:
1: The Dark Tower - Wastelands - The Drawing of the Three
2: Wolves of the Calla - The Gunslinger - Song of Susannah
3: Wizard and Glass
I just can't put them in a strict order, to me it'd be undermining most of them.
The most important thing is that The Dark Tower is in your top tier. That means you get to live, BeDan.
1. Wolves of the Calla-Wizard and Glass
2.Dark Tower
3.The Waste Lands
4.Song of Susanah
5.Drawing of Three
6.The Gunslinger
The words written upon this paper, are none compared to the words written upon my heart
1.Drawing of the Three
2.Wizard and Glass
3.The Dark Tower
4.Wolves of the Calla
5.Wastelands
6.The Gunslinger
7.Song of Susannah
I just finished them and after that ending I'm starting over again. But my favorites the first time through would be:
The Dark Tower
The Wastelands
Wolves of the Calla
The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
Wizard and Glass
Song of Sussanah
Seeing that you list SOS as your least favorite and so many agree with you, I made a thread awhile back with the purpose of delving into why this is the case with so many Tower Junkies. Could you post why? http://www.thedarktower.org/palaver/...865#post236865
Thanks.

I've spent some time and i kind of want to do tiers but i think i'll try for a strict order
1. The Wastelands (that's a definite)
2. The Dark Tower
3. Song of Susannah
4. Wolves of the Calla
5. The Drawing of the Three
6. The Gunslinger (definite)
7. Wizard & Glass (definite last)
2-5 can probably be switched around a lil.
Human kind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one and only truth.
My turn!!!
The Dark Tower
Wolves of the Calla
the WasteLands
Wizard and Glass
The Gunslinger
The Drawing of the Three
Song of Susannah
