Newly discovered fossil of giant turtle is named after Stephen King novel character
Peltocephalus maturin is between 40,000 and 9,000 years old and comes from the Brazilian Amazon. With a shell length of about 180 centimeters, the species is one of the largest known freshwater turtles in the world. The armored reptile was named after the giant turtle "Maturin," a fictional character created by best-selling author Stephen King.

She's a real Annie Wilkes:
Stephen King is the latest target of her online tirades, receiving a stern warning should he plan to initiate a sequel. She cautioned him: "If this twerp Stephen ding dong King tries to do a movie horror killer dear I'm suing him. Point blank.", reports the Mirror.
All it's missing is "Sent from my iPhone"!

Binge watched Baby Reindeer last nigh. Intense and compelling. With just a bit of a sag after episode 4 (possibly intentional to allow one to catch their breath). I give it 5/6 beers on the RFSRS.
Take the time to watch this, you won't be sorry.

Evidently she's just as crazy as the show makes her out to be.
In this case, uh yeah, it was? The researchers themselves said they named the giant turtle after the giant turtle from the Dark Tower series, not O'Brian's book.
If some researchers named a giant spider Mordred and said it was because Mordred was a giant spider in a Stephen King book, then it's a Stephen King reference even if the character itself was a riff on King Arthur.

Stephen King has posted a brief tribute to podcaster Scott Wampler, who co-hosted the popular Kingcast, which focused on discussions of King’s works.
Wampler died yesterday at his home in Austin, Texas. No details were immediately available, including his age or cause of death. His cohost indicated he died suddenly, surrounded by friends.
King’s message was brief: “Awfully sorry to hear that Scott Wampler has died.”
The Kingcast podcast invites famous artists to discuss their choice of works by horrormeister King. Guests have included Elijah Wood, directors David Lowery and Guillermo del Toro and even King himself — after a few years and 108 episodes.
