Looks great. Now I just need a time machine to go back and keep track of the data like date purchased and price paid cos not having that in my app will annoy me.

Still waiting for my Android version
Simon, as you know, mobile app development isn’t in my wheelhouse, but I’d be happy to help with any grunt work involved. And, of course, if there’s anything web dev related, don’t hesitate to holler. Really looking forward to seeing this app in my phone!
Looking for Mister Slaughter S/L #78
yeah. this. (I always said don't hold your breath )
So the app is NOT dead, but it's indefinitely on hold. I got real close to releasing the iOS version, but there were just too many issues with the reliability of getting the data synched for me to even consider getting it approved by Apple. I was promised some help by a friend of a friend on the Android version, but that never really got off the ground.
Time and technology have moved on at a pace and Apple now offer some interesting new technology that opens up possibilities of cloud storage for all the data. In theory All of the initial data could be stored as part of the app cloud data and all of the personal info (your own book details, pictures, etc) would be stored in your own personal iCloud space. Benefits of this are smaller app on the device and you will be able to always have a copy of your own data. There is a third option of 'shared data' between users as well, so I could add functionality such as cloud sourced price info for rare books or possibly even buy/sell/trading. All good stuff, but the reliance on clever things provided by Apple means its harder to have an app that is replicated on Android, plus the fact I'm not an Android developer.
The other big issue is my personal time. I've got a lot of stuff that takes up my time outside of work (much of it already focused around SK and TDT.org!) and finding the time (and energy) to rebuild the app is difficult. I've gone back to it a number of times in the last 18 months, some UI tinkering and other things but it really needs a full overhaul of the main engine code.
One day...
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Thanks for the update, Simon. The cloud storage and shared data points are all appealing. When someday comes, I look forward to downloading it onto my iPhone.

"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Any update on this?
No. The Android option never panned out. I do revisit it from time to time, but my original code is really out of date now. It's written in Apple's Swift language which has gone through huge updates over the last few years.
It would probably need a complete rewrite.

I'll archive the thread. It can always be restored if something new comes along.
