John F. Kennedy
A poem about Roland that will open my upcoming novel
This man and King's writing has inspired me and my life...This will be the first thing the few people that read my novel will lay eyes on...Long days and pleasant nights my friends....
My Tower
------------
within that meadow i do see
my past; my future in front of me
everything ive loved
everything is near
this is my destiny
Why's there fear
The roses shine like a beating sun
Tis no end like a smoking gun
The red king looks down below
My harp sings
But did i grow
have i used and have i gained
have i fought through all this pain
ive sacrificed my whole life
missing fingers and my daddy's wife
i made my path along the beam
Chosen hell is all it seemed
but i did it my own way
i'd walk for my tower till my judgement day

Ask not what bears can do for you, but what you can do for bears. (razz)
When one is in agreement with bears one is always correct. (mae)
bears are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good stuff. I like it when novels give you snippets of other work at the beginning to set up the mood.

I love that this forum allows people to post their own writing. I had entire threads of mine deleted at the SKMB because they contained fiction that I wrote myself. They didn't even allow my poems, although I know they allowed other people's. For some reason the moderator hated me. But all the men at that forum got coddled and treated like royalty because there were so few of them. Women are like that wherever I go.
