Is it me or both the sig from the auction and shaq's look slightly different?
So that wouldn't be fac simile.
I have noticed the "copyyright 1942" but with Fourth edition. So :SDCC - 1st ed ?
S&S - nov 2nd ed?
3rd ?
Waterstone - 4th

Realizing that pretty much everyone has a B&N near them, I'm going down to my local one in a day or so to scope out the "anomaly". PM if you want me to pick you up one should I be successful.
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
Had a problem with my credit card. Worked with Waterstone's and today said they will be shipping me a copy. Thanks to one and all for all the great info!

The sigs are different, so they had someone actually sign them.

The "copyright 1942" ties it in with The Waste Lands. A new book that was copyrighted in 1942 could easily be on it's fourth edition. It's all part of the fiction of Beryl Evans being the author.

SDCC - US limited edition. (SDCC) True first edition.
S&S - US first trade edition. There are two states of the first printing.
Waterstone - UK limited edition with limited signed print housed in a slipcase.

"Thanks, but no, it isn't a cowboy hat. It's a fedora. And yes, Indianna Jones is still socially relevant."
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Indeed you are right

I ordered two but I think I'm missing something.
That's the extra page. What makes it so special?

Got my shipping notice but not the items yet. This thread has me utterly confused. If some kind soul wants to PM me and let me know what is going on please feel free
And sold out, wow.
Here is what I can surmise so far:
US EDITION - there are clearly two versions of the 1st printing. As to how rare the one with the UPC sticker on the back is compared to the other one, I don't know. In my area, all of my copies are the ones with the sticker.
UK EDITION - the print is signed and numbered to 1000, but we don't know for sure who signed it. Or, if someone does, they are not saying :-) I think the book is a regular 1st printing.
Wasn't it supposed to be slipcased as well?

Checked Waterstone's website. More copies (10+) for sale. Still advertising a slipcase. More confused day by day.
I have mine in hand and they are slipcased with a signed limited edition print. Hope this clarifies.
Slipcase is shown in my previous post. Hidden in spoilers so people can choose to look or not.
