Never Read
Another one I give a 1. That will be a recurring theme for me with some of the more recent King.
The book itself was boring. The only thing it was good for was when a few years ago my wife, myself and one of our friends were lost in the woods for several hours. We made some references to the book which we had all read. Other than that, it was a waste of my time.
I gave this a 3. Liked it, didn't love it, have no real desire to read it again.

I liked it a lot, but I much prefer multy-focused King

Wow, surprised by the early negative voting! I'm giving this one a 5. Fascinating quick read. I thought it was great.
I was thinking about a 5, too... if I have the time for at least a quick re-read, I might reconsider my vote.

What I really liked about it is that it was so realistic and plausible. And King is very good at writing real. (And he'd great about writing unreal, too )
I'm surprised too, but this book really is a very focused story. I think it easily could have, and maybe SHOULD have been put in an anthology instead of being a single release. Even so, this story scared the living hell out of me. It had my heart pounding and I had to read it through from start to finish. It caused such a strong reaction from me that I have never read it since even though I loved it. My only explanation for such a reaction is that it struck a strong, deep seated chord from my childhood. Though I don't conciously remember it, I know that I was lost in the woods once long enough for search teams and the local TV news to become involved in a search for me. I also know they never found me. I followed one of our dogs home and arrived late in the evening near dark. So I identify with this story on a very primal level.
Gotta give it a 5.
Margaret Emmie Mackey Catoe, you are, have been, and always will be my soulmate, and I love you.

5 with stars.
I wish they'd make this into a movie. Somebody smart could make a really scary film out of it.
I gave it a three. It was one of the first King books I ever read, second one if I am not mistakened. I remember it was a pretty interesting read, but it was to short and I felt it was a bit lacking for a Stephen King novel. It was a good read, so I give it a 3.
I gave a 4...was stuck between a 4 or a 5 though. I loved this story, really intense and I loved the main character.
i gave it a 2, its semidecent
is it possibly meant for a younger audience?
Its the first book by him that I ever read when I was like 9 years old and I loved it then but I picked it up about a month ago and didnt like it, file it with RL Stine cause its kiddy-tripe
if the worlds gonna end then let's get it over with, i got shit to do
I *think* I gave it a 3, but forgot to comment on it.
It was okay, but not spectacular.

I gave it a three, I did love the story but it seemed a little...I don't know...

Well, you learn something new every day....
I did give it a 3.

Never read. I've got both the hardcover and pop-up book sitting on my shelf though, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
