Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.
Shawshank redemption. May have been voted as a top 100 audience favorite of all time.

This is a very difficult catagory. Many good choices (and The Shining[ugh!]) that were very faithful to the spirit of the source material if not following the source in full. Some great acting is contained in this list with Academy award nominations and even winners within. I loved most of them and adored a few too.
I've got to go with The Shawshank Redemption though. As much as I loved The Green Mile, Shawshank actually forced me to read the story. I was not disappointed.
Margaret Emmie Mackey Catoe, you are, have been, and always will be my soulmate, and I love you.
Con todo mi corazon, por todo de mis dias. And I always will, in this life and into the next.

There is now fuckign way I'm voting for the 1980's Shining.
Mine is Green Mile
Shawshank.
Elodin: "Tombs is for feckless twits who can't chew their own food. My boy's a Re'lar! He has the feck of twenty men!"
Kvothe: “Books are a poor substitute for female companionship, but they are easier to find.”
Simmon: ”It’s just ointment in case you get burned...but if you mix it with piss, it turns into candy.” Sim’s expression was deadpan. “Delicious candy.”
Christ, this was hard. I went for The Green Mile, but it was a toss-up between that, Misery, and, surprisingly, Secret Window.
My decision is made.
Time spent with cats is never wasted.
Shawshank - all the way!
Could there ever be any doubt - The Shawshank Redemption.
When channel surfing if you ever come upon this movie I say it's near impossible to change the channel no matter how many times you have seen it! Few moveis do that to me! Shawshank always does it!

Spoiler:
I'll need time to consider this one before voting. There's a three way* in my head right now.
*tie
It'll take a lot more than words and guns,
A whole lot more than riches and muscle.
The hands of the many must join as one.
And together we'll cross the river.
Puscifer, "The Humbling River"
