Well Predator for damn sure...
but I'm having trouble deciding between Dark City, Minority Report, and Total Recall. All exceptional sci fi films in their own right.
Bahhh..... must think on this a bit.
Total Recall and, of course:

In keeping with my current av I picked Predator and Total Recall
"Recall, Recall, Recall!"
Buddy, you think you look strong? You’re wearing a cape.
Need more Dark City love.
Wow. I really like or love all 6 films. I must ponder...
If Dark City and Minority Report go I think I'll be officially out of favourites that don't contain Xenomorphs :/

Man, I can't believe Total Recall is going to overtake both Minority Report and Dark City. The mind boggles.
Not for Total Recall. It's a good movie, but that's about it. Also, two Arnold movies. Seems people tend to pick the more "fun" choices rather than artistic or acclaimed ones. Which doesn't have to be two different categories.
How weird would it be if the final two choices are Alien and Predator, then we could have a real life Alien Vs. Predator!
(just fyi, I really hope Predator isn't one of the final two choices)
I hear ya. And I'm not sure if its so much about people voting for fun sci fi as it is about voting for sci fi that leaves a lasting impression. A mind bender like TR - with its trippy narrative and mind fucking imagery - is more likely to leave an imprint over something like MR that plays it relatively safe by SF standards.
And Predator is dope, OK. (Here he goes again lol) Casting Arnold was a master stroke. Humanity is used to be being the ultimate hunter, so to tell a sci fi centric story about a man mountain like Arnold being outwitted, out muscled, and toyed with in a game of cat and mouse enhances the menacing aspect of the alien. Many stories extra terrestrials usually paint them as feral creatures that will attack anything on sight, or as a species hell bent on world domination. Predator(s) harbor no such characteristics -- they hunt and kill for sport; they are very cold, calculating, precise and love to taunt their prey. ("Over here" "Anytime") A very different kind of terror. Plus explosions and shit.
Dark City has much more mindfucky imagery than Total Recall, I think.
What?! Hell nahhhhh. There are two or three scenes in TR that are much trippier than anything found in DC.
I mean, the shit that you see in TR is the kind of thing you can only come up with if you were under the spell of LSD, which PKD most certainly was lol.
Dark City is one of the best films ever made. No other film in this poll I can say that about, even Minority Report, which I also really like. There is no other film in existence like Dark City, in both look and plot.
Pablo, I agree with you. Not so much that the movies are 'fun' but are their favourites. I still maintain that the word 'Best' in the contest nixes favouritism. Some movies I really, really like haven't gotten my votes because there are better movies that aren't necessarily favourites of mine. I know I'm almost entirely out of movies to vote for that don't have Xenomorphs in them. Not saying I won't like any of the films in the last couple rounds, but there aren't many I'll think deserve the title of Best Science Fiction Film of all the Times. The horror tournament ended up the same for me as this tournament is shaping up to end. I think I'll have to watch Blade Runner/2001 this week so I can hope to still have some dogs left in this race :/

You haven't seen 2001, Blade Runner, or Apocalypse Now...
