The Gunslinger. We are first introduced to Roland following the man in black across the desert. We were hooked. I know I just love Roland. He is my favorite character in the whole series, and yes I do love them all, but it started with Roland and The Gunslinger.

That Sheb thought he could take out Roland by himself

Which was worse....Traveling in the dark under the mountains or traveling in the heat across the desert?

Under the mountains in the dark for that long would have been awful.
