07-09-2010 09:53 AMcody44My nomination is for A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin. 07-09-2010 10:44 AMBriceTrick Baby:The Story Of A White Negro by Iceberg Slim 07-12-2010 04:10 PMpathoftheturtle 07-12-2010 04:31 PMtowerfanthese all sound like good reads. i would enjoy discussing any of the books nominated! any reason to start a new book is always a plus. 07-12-2010 06:42 PMwoodpryanPlease god, anything but Twilight. I can't bear to read all those unnecessary adverbs and the thought of reading about those sad, brooding, angst ridden teenagers makes me a little sick to my stomach. For someone who is 200 years old, Edward is just too stupid to read about. 07-12-2010 07:12 PMladysaiA great read, imho.
But, do we want to begin a series? (especially one that is unfinished)
I will nominate:

It's probably my favorite genre book, and would fall mostly on the fantasy side ... but not really ( sounds intriguing, hunh? ) -
Robert Silverberg's Lord Valentine's Castle.
It's an award winner. It's readily available in all formats, and usually fairly easy to find used.
Published in 1980, it's spawned several sequels, called collectively The Majipoor books.

Maybe I should start a discussion thread, as I'd love to hear more of why you didn't like it.
I can take you hating on the Titanic (I mean, because of your childhood boating accident and all) but The Prestige? I wish you were playing Wolves with us so I could lynch you. 07-29-2010 06:37 AMBrice<_< Lynching Pam is not allowed. :nope: Really it's a safety issue.Spoiler: 07-29-2010 06:39 AMRickyQuote:Yeah?
