I offer only as discussion and thought. 06-25-2017 04:21 PMladysaiI'm going off on a tangent here...
but, I'm wondering why a fella with a quote from The Outlaw Josey Wales in his sig didnt nominate a scene from it? 06-25-2017 04:23 PMMerlin1958
Heathens!!! LOL
I believe I tried early on, but it didn't take, sadly. Heck, there were a bunch of, Eastwood westerns that should have been included. New generation I suppose, which is cool, I guess. 06-25-2017 04:29 PMladysaiHeathens prevented you from nominating that scene?
Unbelievers strapped you to the armrests on your chair and made you listen to Rush until you solemnly swore not to nominate it? LOL! 06-25-2017 04:35 PMMerlin1958 06-25-2017 04:40 PMMerlin1958Just like "There are other worlds than these", There are other opinions than mine. Should these scenes be included in my mind? Yes, but others feel that "Ssupira" and other films are more important. I must bow down to their popular opinion except, in a gun fight!!! lol lol lol
Well played, my Lady!!!! lol 06-25-2017 04:52 PMladysaiWesterns are out of fashion, for certain. Maybe it is a generation-related thing.
Hollywood seems to have lost interest, too.
The last good Western I saw was Tombstone.
Loved it!

I know it's probably going to get zero votes but it's one of my personal favorites. 06-26-2017 08:18 AMT-Dogz_AK47 06-26-2017 08:31 AMHeather19This one
06-26-2017 11:40 AMT-Dogz_AK47 06-26-2017 12:03 PMT-Dogz_AK47The nomination window for "Wild Card" entries is now closed. There are a total of eight official "Wild Card" movie scenes entered. These will face off against each other in a poll that I will be posting tomorrow evening. :excited: 06-26-2017 12:07 PMwebstar1000How does it work Tim? Just an extra entry in one of the polls?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 06-26-2017 12:34 PMT-Dogz_AK47The eight "Wild Card" movie scenes will face off against each other in a separate poll, with only one entry emerging victorious. The winning "Wild Card" entry will then be matched up in a single 1 on 1 playoff against the movie scene with the lowest vote percentage emerging from Round 1, with the winning scene from that matchup then advancing with the others to Round 2. 06-26-2017 05:20 PMmae 06-28-2017 01:56 PMT-Dogz_AK47An Important Announcement regarding the Best Movie Scene TournamentIt has come to my attention that a fellow member's movie scene that was previously seconded by myself on 24th May, had not been added to the Google sheet and subsequently, not included in the 256 official entries that make up Round 1.
This is solely my mistake and I accept full responsibility for the oversight. The movie scene in question is the "Gearing up" scene from Commando (1985).
Having been duly and correctly seconded during the nominating process, it is only fair that this scene is included in the tournament. However, mathematically this poses a few problems as we cannot start Round 2 with 193 entries, nor can I realistically start deleting entries and re-posting polls.
In consultation with the member affected by my balls up, it has been agreed that there will now be a 3 step process for the "Wild Card" entries to earn a place in Round 2, in order for the Commando scene to be included.
Originally, the winning "Wild Card" entry from the current poll was to be directly matched up against the movie scene with the lowest vote percentage emerging from Round 1, with the winning scene then advancing with the others to Round 2.
Instead, the winning "Wild Card" entry will now be matched up against the Commando scene in a single 1 on 1 playoff, with the winner of that poll facing off against the movie scene with the lowest vote percentage emerging from Round 1. The winner of that final poll will then proceed with the others to Round 2. 06-28-2017 03:21 PMwebstar1000Nice! That is an excellent scene!!

Yeah, well it occurred to me that there is likely a shit load of worthy scenes we forgot. Just watching scheduled cable programming the last week or so it occurred to me that this was the case. So, I see no reason we can't list some of those here as "Honorable Mentions". Doesn't help or hurt the tournament, but may provide some alternative entertainment, right?
