And your point is?
Eventually, I'd like all of Towerpedia to have member submitted artwork - much more fun that way. Besides, people here come up with the most clever ideas! :)

it is, isn't it? I do so wish Lisa could make pictures in this style for all the DT (Tarot or no Tarot): they would look like what bears have in mind.
off topic, but for some odd reason when i imagined the the Prisoner card, I always saw the baboon as Rafiki (i think that's it name, the creepy monkey from the Lion King?) with an evil grin.
Lisa, why the Octopus tentacles? (I assume that's what they are?)
Love the key in the top corner!
I believe one is the whip, and the other is the monkey's tail. :)
Not those, in the background. there's the Tower (i think), roses, Eddie's key, the Ka symbol, the Eye of the Crimson King, and uh...tentacles.
Oh, duh. I see it now.
:P
The tentacles are monsters from todash, sort of also being a metaphor for Eddie's drug addiction (aswell as the monkey on his back) and plus, i think Eddie would have been consumed by the todash nasties in the doorway cave if he hadn't defeated his demons.
Also, the left side of the card is ripped and has darker symbols like the CK's eye - whereas the right side isn't ripped and has a ka sybol and Eddie's key - which represents his transition he makes after meeting Roland.
I tried to put lots of symbolism in like they do with the Rider Waite tarot deck.
Oh and yes, the tower is in the middle and roses are on both sides of the card
Jean :rose:, I am actually working on a DT tarot deck. Aswell as artwork I'm trying to divine a meaning for each card so it's taking a while. I started making notes for it about 2 years ago ;)
Maer, thanks :couple:
Wow! How awesome would that be? A Lisa made DT tarot deck. :excited:
I'd buy one!
That's amazing, DarkThoughts. The concept is great but what makes it even better is the execution. Really amazing! :cowboy:
Thanks :couple: I'm chuffed people are diggin it so much
It is awesome.
yes yes I'd buy one! I love my deck now but a DT one would surely be a collector's item! I may never use it but i'd likely stare at the cards every day! lol
I'm working on my entry, qite proud of it actually...hopefully I'll have it posted by the weekend....
Razz: yep, Rafiki is the baboon....random fact to go along with that: Rafiki is the African word for friend...we did a fundraiser in school to help kids in kenya, and we learned a few phrases in i think Swahili, my favorite beig "jambo rafiki", which means hello friend.....Simba means lion, and I'm pretty sure Mufasa means King or ruler or soemthing along those lines...
Can't wait to see what you come up with, IR!
I don't think I am going to have time to actually do a picture of good ol' Eddie. But I did do some sketches of him just in case. I wanted to do one of him whittling his wooden key.
So keep in mind these are just really rough compositional sketches. Except for the key...which in my coffee buzzed stupor thought would look cool if it resembled the tower.

I think the key is really cool Dave--amazing representation. I hand not considered it that detailed in my mind but I like the idea.
Lisa! That Eddie is great, I saw the tentacles as todash monsters right off the bat. :huglove:
My only suggestion would be that the baboon's fingers are buried up to like...the first knuckle in flesh but only because that image always really got me. <shivers>
The baboon itself is REALLY well done though, those things are scary as fuck to me!
I went with black an white this time, my drawings generally look ebtter when lacing color...regular and ebony pencils used.....
unfortunately the pic was wider than my scanner and dear Susannah got cut off a bit, but below her it says "Don't worry bout it Sug"...

i know it's very bright white, but Eddie is the line of the Eld, the White, so it made sense to me for him to be in a white background
Both are really cool!
it's really really good Mist
I love how serious still young his face is.
