Not necessarily, it's more like a culmination of little details that I've been reading / seeing up until this point ...
Having said that, however, I have to admit that as strongly as I fought the temptation, in the end I succumbed and watching the 6 minute prologue/intro to TDKR ... it's amazing
Here's a Russian interview with Hardy in regards to playing Bane. Its mostly hints at characterization. One bit of wording may confirm a rumor...or not. Its a rough translation.
03-19-2012 08:34 AMfernanditoAwesome, thanks for posting that Empath.
Apart from the action sequences which I'm sure will be mind blowingly awesome, I can't wait to see the manipulative side of Bane. The prologue gave us a pretty big clue as to how tight a grasp he has on those around him. 05-01-2012 06:27 AMfernanditoMY BODY IS READY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8evyE9TuYk&sns=fb 05-01-2012 02:36 PMRickyIs that the NEW trailer? I thought it came out on the 4th! :panic: 05-01-2012 07:59 PMEmpath of the WhiteWow, Tom's eyes are crazy good. In that scene with the riot in the background, it looks as if Bane wants to start ripping heads off. Catwoman looks to have a very intriguing story arc, as does Bruce! 05-02-2012 08:13 AMfernanditoYeah that's what I thought too. I guess they didn't figure the fanboys would figure out the clues so quickly. They thought wrong lol.
Bane looks so, so intimidating. You can almost feel the insanity behind his eyes radiating from the screen.
"I'm Gotham's reckoning."
"Your punishment must be more severe."
GAT DAYUM. 05-02-2012 08:13 AMfernanditoYeah that's what I thought too. I guess they didn't figure the fanboys would figure out the clues to the scavenger hunt so quickly. They thought wrong lol.

GAT DAYUM. 05-02-2012 08:17 AMDoctorDodgeGave me the shivers. Looks like one that will be "break the hero into tiny little pieces before putting him back together again".
Sounds good to me! 05-04-2012 06:35 PMRickyJust watched the new trailer for the first time (and then again) and...HOLY CRAP! This movie is going to be so intense. :excited:
I really haven't been convinced by Bane as "villianous" but I think this trailer convinced me. Blowing up bridges, planes, that cold, emotionless voice--terrifying. 05-05-2012 05:07 PMfernanditoI saw the 6 minute prologue online some time ago (I'm sorry, I did everything in my power to not succumb to temptation but in the end my attempts were futile) and believe me, any doubts you may have about Bane will dissipate within the first five minutes of the film. 05-05-2012 06:09 PMRicky 05-11-2012 07:28 AMRickyHas anyone seen this? I just saw it this morning and was excited to see Baltimore listed, but it doesn't list any exact locations! :panic:
The Dark Knight Rises Tumbler Tour 05-11-2012 03:21 PMbeam*seekerI loved your analysis. I could not figure out why I hated this movie. Intellectually, it was interesting and I actually liked the plot and the ideas. Fundamentally, however, it completely lacked heart. Pure mental masturbation with visually interesting effects. But that is the problem with movies in general for me.
The Prestige on the other hand, I really liked. I could have cared less about the plot twist, I really sympathized with the characters. 05-11-2012 04:02 PMDoctorDodgeIt's funny, on both films, that's exactly what Jean thought, beam*seeker. And I will agree that, as much as I really enjoyed Inception, The Prestige is a better film overall. Must watch that again soon.
Though I resent any view that masturbation, mental or otherwise, is necessarily a bad thing. :P 05-12-2012 07:14 AMJean 05-12-2012 10:31 AMpathoftheturtle<_< I still think it's The Prestige that's really overrated. 05-12-2012 10:40 AMJeanwhy? it's neat and slick and beautiful, it's fun to watch, it's very ingenious and altogether memorable. It's not very moving or deep, a fireworks rather than a mass, but I found it masterful and very likeable in every respect 05-12-2012 11:34 AMEmpath of the WhiteI need to do a rewatch of The Prestige. The scene that sticks with me was where one of the magicians was doing a bullet-catch trick, only to realize that the spectator he'd given the gun to was his rival. It was good and tense.
After Batman, I would love to see Nolan do an original horror film. 05-14-2012 12:30 PMfernanditoAs I mentioned earlier in this thread, I would love to see Nolan try his hand at something that didn't involve guns or violence.
I want to see him tackle a drama with rich, complex characters. Something where his characters aren't just ciphers in his intellectual musings. 05-15-2012 08:09 AMpathoftheturtleClosest so far was probably Insomnia. At least, the character element was what I really enjoyed in that one, violence or not.
Yeah. I mean, yes. I still was a little disappointed. Hard to explain. I guess it seem a bit pretentious about just how moving it was supposed to be. Not that it's a bad production, by any means. Just certainly not my personal favorite. 05-15-2012 08:13 AMBrice 05-15-2012 08:19 AMDoctorDodgeDon't be silly, Brice. It'll be a darkhearted romantic comedy. He is English, after all. 05-15-2012 08:24 AMfernandito
