:O wow!
So at work today, I was talking with a co-worker about who we think will survive the series and who we think will die before it's over.
Possible spoilers ahead if you haven't caught up with the series:
I personally think Tyrion will make it to the end, along with Sansa and Jon.
I think Jamie and Cersei are somehow going to take themselves out together in the "they will die the same way they came into the world, together" sense. Plus, I think Jamie is the valonqar aka "Little Brother", who will kill her mentioned in her prophecy as he was born immediately after her (holding onto her foot) instead of Tyrion like she thinks.
I also think Dany will be dead by the end of the series. I think she is Azor Ahai reborn and will save all of Westeros from the Others with her dragons and the help of Jon and the Night's Watch, but with the prophesied great personal sacrifice of dying somehow in order to accomplish it.
As for everyone else, I can't say one way or another for sure. In regards to the remaining Starks like Bran, Arya and even Rickon, I'm not sure, but I did read something on Westeros.org recently that stated for years GRRM said the title of the 6th book, currently called The Winds of Winter, was A Time for Wolves. Interesting, huh? I'd love to see the Starks taking back what is rightfully theirs and having good luck for a change.
Who do you guys think will make it to the end? Who is going to go out with a bang, a la Ned?
I think Ned went out with more of a Thump

Everyone dies except Podrick Payne.
Woot! Ya'll probably already knew this but I love it when I find something on my own. On page 706 in the paperback of CoK:
Spoiler: 12-02-2010 07:16 PMErinYay Bethany! I personally didn't catch ANY of theSpoiler:stuff at all my first re-read. I had to learn about it on the internet.
The only thing I feel proud of myself for catching during my first read is the fact thatSpoiler: 12-02-2010 07:20 PMBethany:wtf: I miss everything, never catch on to anything at all and I knew

Lastly, When Hoster Tully was dying he said a womans name and that he was sorry. (Pansy, Tansy, something like that). Do we find out about that or is that just open?
Thanks guys! I'm totally sucked in and have found myself going back and reading the wiki pages for more info even though there is none! 12-04-2010 01:39 PMErinWesteros is the shit! And yeah, Littlefinger is totally the shady mastermind behind why a lot of events occured, along withSpoiler:
As for your other question,
Spoiler: 12-04-2010 01:42 PMErinAlso Mo,
Check out this website for some of the best ASOIAF information I've seen. They do an amazing breakdown (with references and page numbers) of all sorts of popular theories surrounding the series.
Their breakdown of Jon Snow's possible parentage is amazing and they list out ALL the possibilities pointing out who it could be.

Be sure to watch that link, as it's the full nearly 12 minute video. The one posted on makinggameofthrones.com is an edited, 10 minute version.
Now some random thoughts and Likes:
- LOVED the speaking scene between Tyrion and Jon.
- Harry Lloyd is playing Viserys perfectly. He's nailed his sense of false entitlement and the crazy. I love when Illyrio is announcing them and Dany moves to step forward and he grabs her wrist and pulls her back. Subtle stuff.
- Arya hugging Jon! So adorable!
- The Targaryen hair is growing on me a lot more. In some of those scenes with the sun shining on it, it looks great.
- Loved the Ned and Gendry scene.
- Littlefinger = perfect.
- Direwolf puppies!!!
- Arya holding Needle!
- That dragon skull the art department was working on is HUGE.
- Dany holding one of her dragon eggs!
- Totally liked the upclose look of the Hound and his helm
- Oh man, the scene of Arya on the statue about to seeSpoiler:- Heartbreaking
- Jon's facial hair is growing on me. I felt a lot better about his look after this preview.
- NCW has totally nailed Jamie. I love all the smirks on his face, the cocky way he draws his sword when confronting Ned and Jory out in the streets, all of it. It's going to be easy to dislike him,Spoiler:
Dislikes:
- Still not sold on Lena Headey as Cersei. From what we've seen so far, she's nailed the icy, bitchy demeanor, but where is the intense beauty and confidence? In the books, Cersei oozes sex appeal. I'm just not seeing this from her yet. And a minor complaint, you can tell in a couple scenes that Lena Headey is pregnant. Not a big deal of course, but they could have tried to hide that a bit better.
- The Lannister guards armor (especially their helmets) still look weird to me 12-06-2010 01:16 PMYeah Sure WhateverSo yeah I was pronouncing a lot of the names wrong. I'm not sure I can make the voice in my head say it correctly though!
Spoiler:
I just have the epilogue left of whatever book 3 is called (I know I'm terrible), and I'm finally moving on to book 4. I know there is no Dany or Bran and of course I REALLY want to know about Bran and Coldhands 12-06-2010 02:16 PMOchrisOI like how the "15 min preview" has 5 mins of commercials when it aired on HBO. :\
It still looked really awesome, though.
I really liked when Ned was talking to Jaime about how he doesn't fight in tournaments so that when he really had to fight people they don't know how he fights. The tension in the air there is great.
Emilia Clarke /Daenerys Targaryen is way hot.
I still think they need to ugly Tyrion up a bit.
I always see Sansa as looking very storybook princess, but she doesn't really in this. I guess I can get used to it.
Little Finger is very well done. I want to punch him in the face when I see him on screen just as much as I do when reading the books. That is awesome.
I guess Jon's scraggly facial hair can show a young boy trying his best to be seen as a man who can handle responsibility.
The voice over about fear and winter gave me chills. 12-06-2010 03:46 PMBethanyGee. My computer keeps hanging up a few minutes in, right when GRRM says "Targaryen". 12-07-2010 08:26 AMJohn BlazeIt was awesome. Thanks for posting the link, Erin. Loving everyone except Cersei and Jon right now. And Jon's hate is mostly looks. It looks like he'll do ok. But Cersei is just blah. Viserys is perfect, as is King Robert, whom I was really worried about. Daeny is awesome, and you can tell the actress read the books, by her gushing about how great the story is, that's something I would say. I like Tyrion just fine, they'll have plenty of chances of "uglifying" him laterSpoiler:
Super excited now, I just want a date for the show premiere! 12-07-2010 08:34 AMBethanyDid ya'll see the link about where Dance is supposed to be done by Christmas, with a publishing date announced in January? 12-07-2010 08:43 AMJohn Blazeno! Post it! 12-07-2010 08:45 AMBethanyCourtesy of Tiffany/Lucky Sapien
http://io9.com/5660273/ 12-07-2010 08:48 AMErinI've never seen anything about a publishing date before, post it! GRRM has said specifically that the moment he finishes Dance, he's posting a huge post on his blog....I can't wait until the day I read that. :nana:
I love the casting of King Robert, too. Mark Addy has captured the air of authority Robert has about him, especially in that scene in the preview where he's walking past the Stark guards all bowing down to him. He totally looks to me like a fromer bad-ass who has let himself go. 12-07-2010 08:51 AMErinOh yea, I posted that on my facebook awhile back. Soooo exciting!!!!! 12-07-2010 08:53 AMBethanyI didn't see it :( Facebook has deemed you one of the people that I don't need to see in my newsfeed. 12-07-2010 08:55 AMJohn BlazeRead the link. Sounds great, but not sure how reliable it is. I checked his page, and his not a blog, and neither has a hint about it. 12-07-2010 11:34 AMOchrisOI'll believe Dance is finished the moment I walk into a book store and see it on a shelf and not a moment before. 12-08-2010 12:30 PMBethanySorta book related, in talking to Erin last night I have come up with ideas for ASOIAF children's clothing and items :) 12-08-2010 03:24 PMErinAnd her ideas are GOOOOOOOOOOD. :nana: 12-09-2010 09:19 AMfernanditoWell, hook us up homegirl ! What kind of ideas ? I'll take 12 of each, too. 12-09-2010 09:26 AMBethanyHow about a lavender dress smocked in metallic silver? :D Any of the house colors could be used in geometric designs for dresses.
I can get fabric that is yellow and red checked and smock lions on them. There's red and blue checks that would look great with a Tully fish on it.....I
am in the process of tracking down a dragon design.
Burp cloths (or vomit rags as Emmy calls them) are easy to make, too. Erin got a lace handkerchief that had an "H" for Henry in blue with "For Winterfell" embroidered across it. 12-09-2010 10:51 AMErinMy Winterfell handkerchief is amazing. I had it stuffed in the front of my dress the whole time I wore it.
I need to take a picture and post it in here. 12-09-2010 11:35 AMfernanditoYes. Yes you do.
